Me and the Vampiric Hits

I was just finished reading the last installment of Harry Potter (Deathly Hallows) when I forced myself to be more productive (or is it hunger) for intellectual food. [Well not really for intellectual purpose, most likely for leisure. I’ve placed a target to read at least 10 books for this holiday. Any kind of it.] I have such a bad feeling about it to even start hooking my eyes to its cover on my laptop’s screen. The words of Stephen Kings haunted my perception for prejudgement (more likely prejudice). I always respected him as an experienced and seasoned writer and his every opinion towards the saga I’m about to read count. But I lost to my curiosity than I dumped all my preconception, - with lots of energy to it - took a deep breath and start. In the back of my mind resonates “You about to regret this” “Don’t waste your time"

Though my idea of reading a book kind of ridiculous, because it wasn’t the conventional way of flipping through pages instead I was scrolling down the very database people called ebook (the illegal copy of them, yes them as they in plural). Plenty of John Grisham’s and Eckhart Tolle’s to be read and not forgetting the one in question here, STEPHENIE MEYER’s.

Inquisitiveness gets the best of me. I wondered out of the worldwide hype of Twilight saga and the movie and people’s obsession of the actors and actresses. “It must have been a very good one. World can never be these crazy if it weren’t for the worthy cause,” I hummed silently try to put confidence in my attempt. The last time I ignored such hype is of Harry Potter and wasn’t I the one who pulled my tongue back to my mouth? Wasn’t I the one many months later who finally finished the seventh book and suddenly felt “I could’ve been the one with all the Potter fever back then when it was in season,”. Now I would never want to miss this fever season, must not be the one with awe many years later when it no longer in.

Reading Period: 18/3 - 20/3

And God, wasn’t I surprised? Wasn’t I the one who finished all four books in 14 days? Though it’s kinda slow compare to other enthusiasts, but I could never blame myself to break for TV, meals and sleep. Now I understand why there are such frenzies for vampires and the actor who played it in movie - Robert Pattinson. It’s all about those romantic, Godly, superhumanly, over-the-top-perfection, flawless vampire named Edward Cullen and his newborn love Isabella Swan. Now I got it. Now I can finally tune with the world hype. Now I can finally reasoned with the movie that I just watched, mainly to my disappointment of plot-altering and frustrating amateurism of supporting casts. How sometimes imagery dished in a book cannot always be depicted perfectly on screen. Or was I am the one with too much expectation.
