There was a family of two who just move on to the house near by the sea. Peter and his mom, Clarice finally resettled back to the house long left unoccupied since Peter was 10 years old. Now Peter and his mom return to claim back all the memories they once have with the late Peter’s father, Louis. Peter and his mom leave the house before to live with Clarice parents far from there. Now, finally for the same reason they leave the house, they returned.
Clarice can’t help herself from crying once they step back to the house. Staring at the dusty space and furniture they used to use. Clarice recalls all the happy time they spent in that house. She cannot imagine how empty her life will be soon.
She withdraws herself to the balcony. Smells the smooth salty moisten air breeze once again. Again the memory recalls. She saw Peter walking near by the sea weakly that just brings tears to her eyes. “Be strong my son!” she silently whispers to herself.
“Morning sir! I saw you strolling around for quite long. Can I help you?” offers the young shop assistant at the record store. Peter turn to her and he was speechless by a beautiful girl in front of him.
“Rrr…rock album? Any of it!” he replied with stutter. His eyes were on her without a blink.
“Oh! There’s a new band called The Vibe. Would you like to listen before you buy it?” that friendly girl asked
“No! I’ll take it!”
“Do you want me to wrap it?”
“What?” Peter somehow lost in her charmed look. “S…sure!”
Peter return home with a wrapped CD in his hand. Suddenly his mom came to him.
“How’s the town Peter?” she asked with a soft and tender voice.
“It’s completely changed mom. So different from the time we left it.”
Clarice sense such a melancholic feeling in her son so she just leave him alone and return to the kitchen preparing lunch.
Peter return to his room and put the CD in his closet. He can’t help from remembering how sweet the girl in the record shop is. He promised himself to return to the shop again tomorrow. He wanted to talk to her and maybe ask her out but suddenly realizing that he is not that brave enough judging by his poor condition.
That night, he write a letter and hope he can give it to that girl tomorrow.
“Hi! It’s you again! How bout’ the CD I suggested to you yesterday? Was it good?” asked the girl once he saw Peter strolling around the same shelf as he did before.
“It’s…it’s good! They are talented!” Peter hesitate to answer
The girl smiles “I’m Amanda!”
“Peter!” a simple introduction from him. “I’ll take this! Can you please wrap it for me?” Peter was too shy to further conversation with Amanda. He rather waits by the counter staring at Amanda wrapping CD. He really treasure that look on her. Sometimes, Amanda turn his head to him and smile, Peter turn his eyes away when Amanda look at him. Finally he left the record store without handing the letter he wrote last night. Since then, Peter repetitiously comes to the shop without having courage to ask her out.
Day by day, Peter grows weaker. His face is pale but it never stops him from returning to the record shop buying CD and asked Amanda to wrap it just to stare at her for a moment.
There is a time when Amanda silently following Peter until she comes to his house. Upon knowing where that man leave, she return to the shop again. One day, after almost three month knowing briefly about Peter, Amanda feels such a bad feeling when Peter didn’t come to the shop that day.
Suddenly she heard there is funeral ceremony take place in that town church. As a small town folk, she did attend the funeral. To her surprise, it was Peter’s funeral! She cries miserably upon returning home. She questions herself for the reason of Peter’s death. She had made up her mind to go to Peter’s house for some answer.
Feeling such lost, Clarice cannot help herself from crying. Now she is alone. The same reason that took her husband happened to his beloved son. They both were having a genetically inherited leukemia. She enters Peter’s room; she still can feel the presence of him inside. A warmth feeling like he is still around. Tears dripping on her cheek. She look at all the things left in that room. When she open the closet, she saw a lots of wrapped CD, almost hundred of it. She opens all the wrapped CD only to find a piece of note inside every of them.
I found you are cute. Would you like to go out with me? – Amanda
You still didn’t answer me! – Amanda
You look pale today! Are you OK? – Amanda
Why didn’t you want to talk anything about it? I am waiting here – Amanda
Peter! I think I falling in love with you! – Amanda
What say you? – Amanda
… and lots of lots of them
Suddenly Clarice heard a knock on the door. She hurriedly open the door and saw a girl in front of her. It was Amanda! After introducing herself to Clarice, she was brought to Peter’s room. Clarice hand her all the letters wrote by Peter to Amanda but remain unsent. Amanda read each of them and can’t help herself from crying. She finally realizes that Peter was in love with her too. He is so badly in love with her. If only Peter had opened all the wrapped CD, they must already been a lover, even for a short period of time. If only he did!
