Such Cock Teasers

I have a thing for a beauty with amazing voice and make good with their hands (non-pejoratively), meaning they can play instruments. Jeez, what were you thinking?

Cases like...

CARLA BRUNI

DANA GLOVER

MEIKO

ERIN McCARLEY

Just when you think their beauty enough to conquer the President (read: Nicolas Sarkozy), they a full-packed with amazing voice and talent for instrument. It's hard to hate them now, didn't we?

I've wrote Carla Bruni-Sarkozy (I still hate the last part of her name) Raphael, and Dana Glover's Start All Over Again on my past entries. Now let's talk about the latter two.

Meiko...my girl Meiko. Well we couldn't get enough of her Boys With Girlfriends, can we? I know it's way 2008. But hey good music never die okay.

By the way, why am I reliving all those hits again, you should ask. Well I went through my old archives (as in plural) of mp3ees and stumbled upon Carla Bruni's, Meiko's and Erin McCarley's and I was like...why not I do some tribute to them once they still walking on earth. I mean these talents are such waste not to mention.

Well Erin McCarley, what can I say. Love Save the Empty was an epic commercial since 'He's Just Not That Into You' motion picture (I've reviewed this book before, didn't I?). I knew her way back before that. I stumbled upon her from MySpace. Just some random click and there she goes, a beauty with talent. I know good music when I hear one. She IS good music. But I love Pitter-Pat and Lovesick Mistake more, what can I say, I am a sucker for that kind of songs.

Meiko and Erin McCarley music and vocal style kinda alike, if I were to shuffle both playlist, you might find it hard to differentiate between these two unless you were me. And along come Lenka (need no introduction), Anya Marina (remember Miss Halfway?), Schuyler Fisk (of Hello), Priscilla Ahn (of Rain <--my favorite song) and Tristan Prettyman (Love Love Love, she engaged to Jason Mraz, cry ladies cry hahaha)...and oh...oh...Colbie Caillat.

All in all, they are mostly influenced by Mother of All (by the way, have you seen latest Supernatural Season 6 Episode 12? There's one character named 'Mother of All'). Okay back to business, they are all mostly influenced by Joni Mitchell, our super Indie/Alternative/Folk-Rock queen. For most of you who have no idea who Joni Mitchell is, you should listen to 1971 vinyl record 'Blue'. She sounds so 2000 for 1970's. I mean seriously, if I am that talented with acoustic guitar, I'll dropped MBBS and go busking poor, counting cent to cent with all her song in that album.

Okey let me hint you, remember Big Yellow Taxi song by Michelle Branch and Counting Crows? It was originally performed by our queen Joni. Yeah, like she penned-that-song-down-and-pluck-her-guitar-to-it kinda original. So shoo...go back to your lack-of-musical-taste nest, I can't barely look at you. Hahaha...

Well, if I am to write in this kinda chain reaction of thought, I'll write a book. So here go listen to Meiko and Erin McCarley.

What I like about Erin though, is that she sounds way better live and unplugged than her studio version. That what we call, non-manufactured talent.

Meiko - Boys With Girlfriends

Meiko - Under My Bed

Erin McCarley - Love, Save the Empty

Erin McCarley - Pony (It's OK)

Erin McCarley - Pitter-Patt

XOXO & less than three you...
