Heathcliff...It's Me Cathy

"Treachery and violence are spears pointed at both ends; they wound those who resort to them worse than their enemies."

I attempted to read the original un-simplified version Wuthering Height, a novel by Emily Brontë twice back in 2009 but I got dissuaded by the fifth page. The same thing happened with Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway (read my 2008 review HERE), but I managed to brace through it.

As most with 1847 English classic literature, you got lost in the slang conversations and vocabulary. But you can sense there is some strong sense of revenge, some kind of love that revolves in passion intercept with anger.

Well that is not the point of this entry; I wanted to share you this song by Kate Bush that pretty much summed-up the story, with a same title Wuthering Height. I had this song in my MP4 back in 2009, which I mostly listen on my way to class at annexes. This song has lots of cover versions and among a favorite choir song. Bush’s banshee’s like screech (hyperbole alert), is one of the attraction of this gothic song. This is among Top 100 Singles of All Time.

Have a listen would you.
