We Human are Meant to Be Tempted

By now you readers must already well-learned that my entry and the title upfront bore little significant. Non-sequitur.

My ability to keep words in momentum got lost in bullet train of thought. Not that I am deeply engrossed in psychiatry that it affect me. Every one of us carry some sort of craziness. What change is normality. Society been challenged with multitude changes of moral and ideal that abnormality in the end, seemed justified.

Alanis Morissette in her rendition of Seal’s ‘Crazy’ stated that “We will never gonna survive, unless we got a little crazy”. This idea sounds absurd. Who is Alanis to be measure up to Nietzsche.

Craziness is not abnormal, just different. I came to further understand this upon a home-visit to a Paranoid Schizophrenic patient who stated:

“Just because I refuse to think in the way of others, should I be labeled as crazy? Should all my opinion be refuted when there can be slightest chance of possibility. When I say that man has landed on the moon, please don’t tell me there is no such thing as moon; so they can re-emphasize that I am crazy. There is a moon and I believe it.”

I feel for him though most of my colleague responded with a judgmental stare and funny smirk. They held fast to the notion that “This man is crazy, everything about him is crazy.”

Giordano Bruno accused of heresy for his opinion on spherical earth, he was labeled as crazy for supporting the opinion of Copernicus. George Abbot stated that “the opinion of Copernicus that the earth did go round, and the heavens did stand still; whereas in truth it was his own head which rather did run round, and his brains did not stand still.”

Crazy people are those who dare to be different and not afraid to show it.

Crazy is not abnormal, just different. Then again, what is normal?
